Wynn Las Vegas To Equip Rooms With Amazon’s Echo

Very exciting news for anyone planning on staying at the Wynn Las Vegas in the near future. They have recently revealed plans to equip their hotel rooms (all 4,748 of them) with the Amazon hands-free and voice-controlled speaker, Echo.

As a first for the hotel industry, when it comes to this type of technology, beginning in December, installation of Echo will roll out in each room; providing Wynn Las Vegas guests the opportunity to activate a variety of features within the hotel room, via their voice.

Breaking Travel News reported that that Chairman of Wynn Resorts, Steve Wynn, chimed in on this Echo launch, noting that technology has always played a big role within Wynn Resorts over the years. He adds that what Amazon has done with Alexa (the voice and brain of Echo) has been perfect. Wynn also stated that in his 49 years of creating resorts, he’s never seen anything like the device and Echo has made the job of delivering a perfect client experience at Wynn, much easier. He adds that Alexa has helped them go to another level.

Mr. Wynn stated that the Wynn Las Vegas is the first resort worldwide which offers its guests this voice-controlled system. He adds that in collaboration with Amazon, guests can now control every part of their room via verbal command, including: temperature, lights, and audio-visual elements. He notes that it is one more example of Wynn Resort’s leadership as it relates to technology for the betterment of their guests.

It is estimated that by the summer of 2017, Echo and Alexa will be completely operational in all the Wynn Las Vegas rooms, with the device initially controlling room temperature, drapes, television, and the lights. As the project progresses, functions in the future will include personal assistant features.

President of Amazon Alexa, Steve Rabuchin, also made a statement regarding the new partnership noting that millions currently enjoy their Echo devices and interacting with Alexa at home, and now they will be able to share that same experience when they are away. He goes on to state that the hotel is known for luxury and comfort and Amazon is excited to work with Wynn Resorts to heighten their guest experience.
