So you and your little ones are eager to experience the incredible magic a Disney vacation has to offer. You all watch the Disney movies and television programming; now it’s time to enter an enchanted land where anything is possible. Where do you even begin when planning a Disney vacation? Here is an overview of what you can choose from.
Disneyland Park: It’s hard not to get confused between Disneyland Park, and Disney World (which I will dive into detail later). Established in July 1955, Disneyland is located in Anaheim, California. The theme park is significantly smaller than Disney World, and is perfect for a family looking for a week’s long holiday away from reality. Centered on Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, Disneyland offers the actual theme park, and Disney California Adventure. With three hotels on-site (Disney’s Paradise Pier, the Disneyland Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel) gaining access to the main theme park from your room is only a few steps away. Guest can also take a ride on the monorail that drops them off at the Tomorrowland section of Disneyland. Additionally, getting from one part of the park to another is quite easy, as all are located near each other. When it comes to food, there are plenty of options. Travelers can also opt for dining packages, making it cost-effective to eat out. There are a variety that offer character dining, meaning your little princess or pirate can share a mean with their favorite Disney Character; truly an experience of a lifetime for you and your family.
Disney Cruise: For families looking for adventure on the high seas, Disney Cruise Lines is a great alternative to experience all the magic that Disney has to offer. The ship is a 130,000-ton vessel, with a length of 1,115 feet and a maximum width of 125 feet, 14 towering decks, 1,250 staterooms, and can accommodate 4,000 passengers; not to mention the 1,458 Disney Crew Members who aim to make your trip one that you will never forget. Much like Disneyland, a Disney Cruise is perfect for those who are looking for a shorter vacation; with plenty of packages ranging from a three to four day/night stay. Incredible destinations include: Alaska, Caribbean, Bahamas, California Coast, Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama Canal, and Transatlantic. There are a wide variety of activities for family to enjoy while travelling to your destination, including: Live Disney themed shows, movies, on-deck entertainment with Disney characters, pool fun, spas, and adults-only dining options.
Disney World: The Grand Poohbah Disney destinations, Disney World is located in Orlando Florida. With Cinderella’s Castle as its centerpiece, the park is over 43 square miles, and is really a vacation that requires at least ten to fourteen days to cover, if not more. Disney World showcases four theme parks: The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. With literally dozens of hotels on-site, depending on where you are staying at within the resort, guest are offered free bus transportation, monorail, boat, and ferries rides to travel to the parks you want to visit. Dining options are plentiful; with over 300 different restaurants to choose from. Much like Disneyland, you can purchase dining packages which suit all budgets, and can include eating with your favorite Disney character.
