Summertime fun is all about the road trip; friend or family piling into a car, hitting the open road, and enjoying all the sights and fun along the way. Needless to say, sitting in your car for two to three hour stretches, and indulging in fast food may not be so good for your body. Here are some tips to stay health, focused, and fit during your next road trip.
Especially if you are the one driving. Mild dehydration will not only make you feel out of sorts, you can also risk making poor driving decisions while you are road tripping. The best way to stay hydrated is of course drinking plenty of water while you are driving, so perhaps pack a cooler with some water bottles stored in it. Other thing that can help is cutting down on the amount of caffeinated drinks (i.e. pop, coffee) you consume, and packing fruits and veggies to snack on … versus those items high in sodium like pretzels or chips.
