Great news for those who love to travel to Saint Lucia and enjoy the all-inclusive experience that Sandal Resorts brings. The brand recently announced that is fourth property has begun construction on the popular vacationing island.
Once done, it is being reported that the new resort in St. Lucia will have over 300 luxury suites, fully decked out in all the latest for hotel room features and designs. Currently the other three Sandals properties on the island include: Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Sandals Halcyon Beach, as well as Sandals Regency La Toc, which also happens to be celebrating its 25th birthday this year.
Of course, no announcement is complete without a ground-breaking ceremony with tons of pomp and circumstance, as well as high-profile officials. Well, the event celebrating the new Sandals resort in St. Lucia was no exception to this rule with the island’s Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet on hand, along with Dominic Fedee, Minister with responsibility for tourism, Guy Joseph, Minister of Economic Development and Urban Renewal, as well as reps from Sandal Resorts International itself, Director of Corporate Services, Jeremy Jones and Managing Director of Sandals St. Lucia, Winston Anderson.
The Prime Minister chimed in on the new resort stating that this investment represents 36,000 new visitors coming to the island, which also represents a ten percent increase to new guests coming in. He added that this reflects approximately $65 million (USD) in added expenditures each year that the Sandals resort will bring into St. Lucia.
According to Travelweek, the good news doesn’t end there. In addition to the guests that will be coming to the island and spending their tourist dollars, this fourth Sandals resort in St. Lucia will also offer jobs to more than 1,200 of the islands locals. The resort should be complete and ready to serve guest in about two years from now.
