Most Romantic U.S. Hotel Is In … Ohio?

Wondering where to take your significant other if you are planning a romantic getaway? Wonder no longer! TripAdvisor recently released their 16th Annual Traveler’s Choice Awards, which includes the best romantic accommodations for couples, and the results reveal something quite interesting.

When it came to the United States, TripAdvisor users favored a romantic hotel in Ohio as their favorite: Perrysburg’s Belamere Suites. While the winner may raise some eyebrows, Perrysburg is a quaint and small city, with a population of about 20,00,0 and is located near the Michigan border in the northern region of Ohio.

The Huffington Post recently revealed that the hotel is a boutique one in nature, opened as a romantic getaway for mid-westerners in 2003. Features include: open-design loft suites, two-story, with private swimming pool (heated), a two-person body massage shower as well as jacuzzi tub, sauna, chandeliers, and crystal fireplace. It also has the amenities many have grown to expect from hotels nowadays like free Wi-Fi, complimentary European brekkies, and a private garage.

Seems like the perfect spot for any couple looking for alone time.

Owner of Belamere Suites, John Kranjec, recently remarked on the hotel’s number-one status in the United States, noting that Belamere hit this category thanks to the fun memories couples share that can last a lifetime.

On average, a night at Belamere Suites will cost you about $218, but March is the least expensive month of the year to go to the hotel, where the price tag averages a cool $199 nightly.

When it comes to worldwide romantic hotels, Paris’ The Maison Souquet hit number one, where couples can enjoy an enchanting bar, secret spa, and butler services.

TripAdvisor reviews the remarks and ratings left on their website over the year when it comes to the Traveler’s Choice Awards. The romance category has an emphasis placed on reviews around a couple’s stay.
