For some, travelling is more than just sight-seeing, it is also about engaging in some exciting night life. Drinks International magazine evaluated the ‘best of the best’ as it relates to bars across the globe. Recently announcing their top 50 list of the best bars in the world at an event in London, the list was compiled by votes from over 400 international industry experts.
The winners that made the list stretch across 27 different cities, and 19 countries; with Europe leading the pack, having 23 establishments sprinkled over the 50 best list. Bars within Russia, Greece, UK, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Italy have also been honored. As well, for the fourth consecutive year, Artesian in London snagged the number one spot, and has the bragging rights for being known as the ‘world’s best bar’.
CNN reports something interesting happening in the UK, as London was honored with nine of their bars represented, becoming the city with the most establishments on this prestigious list. In fact, London’s The American Bar at The Savoy, and Happiness Forgets also hit the top 10 on this list, along with Artesian.
Turning to American drinking spots, the cities of New York, Miami, Chicago, Seattle, and San Francisco also were reflected on the top 50 list. In fact, 14 bars from the United States hit the 2015 world’s best bar list. The Asian scene is growing and making its mark, with five establishments making the list this year. In fact, Hongkong Street in Singapore ranked as the seventh best bar on the 2015 list. Other Asian cities included were Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Other things to note, Australian bars made the list – four in total – all located in Sydney and Melbourne.
Latin America was represented, with Licoreria Limantour in Mexico hitting the 20th place, and Puerto Rico’s La Factoria grabbing spot 45. The Middle East also made the world’s best bars list with Tel Aviv’s Imperial Craft hitting 17th, and Zuma Dubai (in Dubai) ranking in at 44.
